What this site is
MineralsCoins publishes free interactive quizzes about film and television. There are no accounts, no sign-up wall and no downloads. You open a quiz, answer ten questions, and get an explanation after every single one.
That last part is the whole point. Plenty of sites will tell you that you scored six out of ten. Far fewer will tell you why the other four were wrong, and those explanations are where the actual value sits.
Why we built it
Most online quizzes are built to be shared rather than played. They are short, deliberately easy, and the questions are frequently recycled from other sites without anybody checking whether the answers are correct. We wanted the opposite: a smaller number of rounds, written carefully, that reward people who genuinely pay attention to what they watch.
The site is also organised so it can be browsed rather than just consumed. Every category has a written guide covering the subject properly, and the articles section goes deeper into film history and craft.
How our questions are written
Every question on this site is written specifically for it. We do not scrape question banks or reword content from other quiz sites. The process for each round is:
- Draft. Ten questions are written around a single theme, aiming for a mix of accessible and demanding.
- Verify. Each answer is checked against reliable reference material. Anything we cannot confirm is cut rather than softened.
- Distractors. Wrong options are chosen to be plausible and genuinely related, never absurd filler. A good wrong answer teaches you something too.
- Explain. Every question gets a short explanation that adds context beyond simply restating the answer.
Corrections
Film trivia is full of widely repeated claims that turn out to be untrue, and no amount of checking catches everything. If you find an error, we would genuinely like to know. Write to us through the contact page with the quiz name and the question, and we will verify and fix it.
Our position on copyright
All artwork on this site is original and produced for MineralsCoins. We deliberately do not use film posters, stills, promotional images or photographs of actors, because those materials belong to their rights holders.
Film titles, character names and franchise names are referenced editorially, as any publication writing about film must do. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners, and this site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any studio, distributor or production company.
How the site is funded
MineralsCoins is free to use. We intend to cover hosting and production costs through advertising. Advertising never influences the content of a quiz, an explanation or an article, and we do not publish sponsored questions.
